Product Introduction
The Qingdao Huashida Radiation Cross-linked Polyethylene (PE) Heat Shrink Sleeve is an advanced anti-corrosion solution designed for the field application of 3-layer polyethylene (3LPE) coating systems. It is ideal for the protection and repair of welded joints in steel pipelines used in oil, gas, and water supply systems.
This product replicates the factory-applied 3LPE structure and performance in field conditions, ensuring durable and reliable protection for pipeline joints.Structure and Composition
The heat shrink sleeve is composed of two primary layers:
Radiation Cross-linked Polyethylene (PE) Backing
Offers superior mechanical strength and protection from external damage.
Special Hot-Melt Adhesive Layer
Ensures strong adhesion to the steel surface and seamless bonding with the epoxy primer.
This system is applied in conjunction with a solvent-free two-component epoxy primer, forming a true 3-layer field-applied coating system.
Working Principle & Installation Process
Surface Preparation
Clean and prepare the steel surface at the weld joint area.
Epoxy Primer Application
Apply the solvent-free two-component epoxy primer onto the prepared pipe surface.
Sleeve Application
Wrap the heat shrink sleeve over the wet primer.
Heat Shrinking
Apply heat to shrink the sleeve tightly around the joint. The adhesive melts and flows, filling surface imperfections and bonding the sleeve firmly to the pipe.
Curing and Protection
As the epoxy cures, it creates strong chemical and mechanical bonds. The outer PE layer forms a solid protective barrier against moisture and mechanical damage.
