Heat-shrink sleeves are special materials made from plastic sheet that undergoes radiation crosslinking, followed by stretching and adhesive lamination. They are widely used in communication and district heating networks, municipal pipelines, oil and gas transmission lines, shipbuilding, chemical industries, and many other fields. Thanks to their excellent performance and easy installation, heat-shrink sleeves have become a preferred solution for joint sealing, anti-corrosion protection, and waterproofing.
Huashida's upgraded heat-shrink sleeve production line adopts a new manufacturing process in which the base material is stretched during extrusion and then specially irradiated. This significantly enhances tensile strength and shrinkability compared with sleeves produced by older technologies, fully demonstrating the advantages of the new process.
The advanced production method features streamlined operations, higher efficiency, and lower production cost. The resulting heat-shrink sleeves offer high mechanical strength, long service life, and excellent resistance to corrosion, aging, and environmental stress. The laminated hot-melt adhesive provides strong bonding and superior sealing performance.

PE heat shrinkable sleeve has a two-layer structure, it is composed of radiation cross-linked polyethylene backing and special heat melt adhesive. For applying to steel pipe the shrink sleeve should be applied together with non-solvent two component epoxy primer.
Heat melt adhesive has good bonding with PE backing, steel pipe and epoxy primer. By heating PE back shrinks, adhesive layer melts, the sleeve closely wraps around the pipe joints. It forms together with the epoxy primer a firm and continuous anti-corrosion body, which is similar to the 3-layer anticorrosive coating in factory conditions. It is resistant to corrosion, wear, impact, UV and aging, easier to be operated.

Absorbing advanced technology, Qingdao Huashida Machinery Co., Ltd. developed an integrated unit with independent intellectual property rights--PP/PE/PS/HIPS/AB/PVC sheet single-layer & multi-layer co-extruded production line. As one of the first domestic manufacturers of plastic sheet and board production lines, Qingdao Huashida Machinery Co., Ltd. has strong technical advantages and rich experience in installation and commissioning. The performance of PP/PE/PS/HIPS/AB/ PVC sheet single-layer & multi-layer co-extrusion line produced by our company has reached the international advanced and domestic leading level.

It is mainly used for pipe connection, field joint coating, wrapping around pipes, anti-corrosion of kinds of pipe joints, and repairing pipes.

The heat-shrink tape is mainly composed of a polyethylene base material that has been radiation-crosslinked and hot-laminated with our company's proprietary hot-melt adhesive.
The heat-shrink wrapping tape series is designed for anticorrosion protection of buried and above-ground steel pipelines and insulation outer layers. It is mainly used for anticorrosion wrapping of steel pipe bends, pipeline coating repair, and 3PE coating wrapping.
01 First Step of Installation
Grind and clean the steel pipe surface. Clean the weld joint thoroughly. All burrs, weld slag, spatter, and bumps on the circumferential weld and its surroundings must be removed.
Remove dirt, oil, and impurities from the repair area. If the existing coating edge shows peeling, rust, or cracking, clean it properly.
Begin joint cross-press bonding with overlapping layers.
Use a gas torch to preheat the steel pipe to approximately 5°C, removing moisture and impurities.
Prepare the primer and apply it evenly. The primer must be a fast-drying type suitable for subsequent coating.
Start the cross-press bonding and overlapping process.
When heating the shrink tape, control the flame intensity and heat slowly. Do not expose any single point of the tape to the flame for too long. Ensure even heating across the entire surface.
Inspect the shrink tape for tightness and adhesive overflow. If any area shows insufficient adhesive flow, use the torch to reheat until adhesive appears. Pay special attention to the underside of the pipe and ensure proper adhesive flow.
Use a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) roller to press and eliminate air bubbles, ensuring a smooth and fully bonded surface.
