Heat Shrink Sleeve For Pipes Oil And Gas Pipelines
Heat shrinkable sleeves/bands are designed for insulating pipe joints, including those of oil pipelines, gas pipelines, and water pipelines, under field conditions. These are dual-layer insulating materials composed of a radiation cross-linked polyethylene substrate and a hot melt adhesive. Additionally, there are reinforced three-layer heat shrinkable sleeves with an internal fiberglass mesh, offering enhanced tear resistance and shrinkage performance. When used in combination with a two-component liquid epoxy primer, a three-layer corrosion protection system similar to the pipe mill coating-specifically, the Super Strong (ВУС) insulation layer-can be formed. Heat shrinkable sleeves are available in roll form, fixed lengths, or ring shapes.

Detailed Photos
The HSSC-1 heat shrinkable sleeve, a two-layered product developed and manufactured by Qingdao Huashida Machinery Co., Ltd., is specifically designed for pipeline anti-corrosion. It consists of a radiation cross-linked polyethylene backing and a high shearing strength melt adhesive, and it possesses shape memory capabilities. Upon heating, the hot melt adhesive is forced into the joint by the shrinkage power, creating a perfectly sealed surface. The HSSC-1 is compatible with standard pipe coatings and can also be applied to bare pipes, replacement pipe sections, and large radius bends. This system is designed to require minimal preheating and is particularly suitable for large diameter wastewater pipes.
Our Advantages
Fast shrinkage speed, good waterproof performance, good anti-corrosive performance, long service life, convenient transportation and fast construction. The product are ideal material for corrosion prevention and insulation.
Application scope
It's mainly used for heat pipe network, steel pipe corrosion resistance and insulation, chemical pipes and sewage pipes etc.

Selecting the proper sleeve:
Project specifications and local standards must be considered when specifying a shrinkable sleeve.
Next to these the following parameters must be considered for selecting the proper shrinkable sleeve:
Pipe Coating Type:
F. I. Bitumen, Coal Tar Enamel (CTE), Cold Applied Tapes (CAT), Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE), PolyEthylene (PE), PolyPropylene (PP), ...
Pipe Operating Temperature:
0 - 120° C (0-248° F)
Pipe Operating Pressure:
F. I. 100 mbar = 1, 42 psi, >4 bar = 56.88 psi, ...
Pipe Medium:
F. I. Gas, water, oil, ...
Pipe Diameter:
F. I. 1" or DN25 for steel pipe, 160 mm jacket diameter for insulated steel pipe, ...
Pipe Preparation:
Surface cleaning: F. I. Abrading, brushing, gritblasting obtainable preheat temperature: Low (60-70° C) (140-158° F), high (80-100° C)(176-212° F), very high (230° C) (446° F)
Adverse Soil Conditions:
Stable: Low soil stresses unstable: Shifting soil conditions, significant pipe motion relative to soil
Mechanical Resistance Heatshrinkable Coating:
Medium (B): Moderate impact and penetration resistance high (C): High impact and penetration resistance
Pipe Laying Method:
F. I...Open Trench, Directional Drilling, Off-Shore Climate conditions (Ambient Temperature during Sleeve Application):
Sea climate: Not very cold - not very warm
Land climate: Very cold - warm
Desert climate: Very cold - hot
All of the above parameters affect the type of coating which will provide the best performance, ease of installation and value. The following selection tables will help you to decide which sleeve is right for your application
